The National Education Association (NEA) Foundation Offers Support for Educators and Students. The NEA Foundation supports a variety of efforts by teachers, education support professionals, and higher education faculty and staff to improve student learning in U.S. public schools, colleges, and universities. The foundation is accepting applications for the following grants:
Learning & Leadership Grants: Provides opportunities for public school teachers, public education support professionals, and/or faculty and staff in public institutions of higher education to engage in high-quality professional development and lead their colleagues in professional growth. Applicants must be practicing U.S. public school teachers in grades PreK-12; public school education support professionals; or faculty or staff at public higher education institutions. Awards will be given to individuals in the amount of $2,000 and $5,000 for groups engaged in collegial study. Student Achievement Grants: Provides grants of $5,000 to improve the academic achievement of students by engaging in critical thinking and problem solving that deepen knowledge of standards-based subject matter. The work should also improve students’ habits of inquiry, self-directed learning, and critical reflection. Applicants must be practicing U.S. public school teachers in grades PreK-12; public school education support professionals; or faculty or staff at public higher education institutions.
